Building a Community

The PEW research center recently published a report on the participatory news consumer. Because more and more people are moving to portable technology and consuming different platforms, more community engagement is taking place. Basically, people have more ways to view news and more places to get it, which in term prompts more internet involvement through social network updating, link sharing, blogging and commenting. Participation is the future, but where does WordPress fit into this?

I’ve always heard that Drupal is a better content system for multiple users (aka establishing a “community”) while WordPress is more aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. I want to stay with Drupal, but I cannot ignore the significance of community-building in the success of my Web site. So how to I foster a community in WordPress?
