A quiet day before the celebrations

Fridays are typically quiet in D.C., but none more than the Friday before the long 4th of July weekend.

10 a.m. UGANDAN AIDS — Ugandan AIDS treatment patients and doctors lobby congress to honor the U.S commitment to PEPFAR Global AIDS program. Participants: Dr. Lydia Buzaalirwa, AHF Uganda CARES, MD & Country Program Coordinator, UGANDA; Sr. Hope Katate, AHF Uganda CARES, Nurse, Masaka, UGANDA; Grace Akupumuza AHF Uganda CARES, HIV Medic and AIDS patient; Mariam Nazziwa – 6 year-old HIV+, orphaned child client of AHF’s Masaka clinic; Daniel Kawooya – 19 year-old HIV+ teenage client of AHFs Kampala-based clinic; Michael Weinstein, AIDS Healthcare Foundation President, Terri Ford, Senior Dir. Of Global Policy & Advocacy for AHF, Tom Myers, Chief of Public Affairs for AHF.

1:30 p.m. SUSPECTED FOREIGN AGENTS — Hearing in the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Virginia for Michael Zottoli, Patricia Mills and Mikhail Semenko, suspected of being foreign agents.

Location: Albert V. Bryan U.S. Courthouse, 401 Courthouse Square, Alexandria, VA.
